Although not quite 7 years old, adorable bonded pair Poppy and Kato have been in the care of Cheltenham Animal Shelter for over a year and are desperate to find their new home together.
A forever home would be perfect, but the Rescue is willing to consider a long-term foster home where you will have full support for any behavioural and medical issues.
Poppy
Poppy is a female American Bulldog and Kato is a male Akita; both are 6 years old. They are a terrific duo and are real bundles of joy. They love to spend time and play with their carers. Poppy loves to play with a ball and Kato loves to sniff and explore. Kato loves his possessions and he appreciates his space when he is eating and around his bed, so he would need someone to respect those areas and his boundaries when it comes to his favourite items.
Kato
Poppy and Kato adore being fussed over once they know you and Kato has a soft spot for a good head tickle. They will require an adult-only home with no other animals as they love all the attention. They would also need a big, secure garden where they can explore and relax.
When Poppy came in, she was struggling with stiffness in her back legs. With further tests and X-rays at the vets, it was found that Poppy has hip dysplasia. She is now on medication which is helping to ease the pain and her kennel has been padded out with beds and blankets for her to lie on.
Poppy and Kato would bring joy to the right household and would make excellent new family members.
