A luxurious dog food dish, designed by a Michelin-trained chef, has completely sold out in under 72 hours – despite its £7 price tag.
King Prawn & Giant Squid Paella is the first offering from Years.com’s new Chef’s Collection, and it’s already proving a smash hit with pet owners eager to treat their dogs to something a little more indulgent.
Demand has been so high that the brand is now racing to produce a second, limited batch for those who missed out.
The exclusive gourmet meal was created by Years.com’s Head Chef Luke Alkemade, whose career includes time in Michelin-starred kitchens, on board luxury yachts, and in product development for Charlie Bigham’s and M&S. Working alongside veterinary nutritionists, Alkemade developed a Spanish-inspired dish featuring tender king prawns and marinated giant squid tentacles, served atop saffron-infused cauliflower rice and fire-roasted piquillo peppers.
Each £6.95 portion is made with premium, vet-approved ingredients and delivers 100% of a dog’s daily nutritional needs. Customers were initially limited to two portions each – but that didn’t stop the dish from selling out in less than three days.
The brand has confirmed a second limited batch is in production and teased that more restaurant-quality recipes are on the way.
